People and their Shadows

These two series were of objects or people with their shadows. I tried to capture shadows with the reflection of the sun. Most of the images I aimed my camera on the ground. My eye wandered to find sunlight and reflections of things all around me. This was a fun assignment because I love street photography and "shadows" evoked even more inspiration and gave me a challenge. My favorite was the people and shadows series.

abstract images: what are they?

These images were taken with the idea of abstractness. I tried to capture pictures as still and somewhat as flat as possible. I took picture of objects very close (macro) and also wanted to create an illusion of what the object truly is. I really liked how these turned out and am trying to keep the observer guessing what is what.

3 X 3 objects

These images represent the 3 by 3 concept: 3 angles of high, medium ( "say cheese") and low angles. You can position your body in certain ways depending on the picture you choose to capture. For example, for high you can get low and look up at the object/person. # 3,4 and 5 depict that notion of photography. The last two are looking down. To capture these images you can get high up on your tip toes or stand on something to make the image look further away/smaller then it actually is. The last concept, the "say cheese" picture is the typical, boring picture we take when our parents want to take a family photo or our friends want to take for fun. The camera is pointed straight ahead and your eyes are usually looking through the lens. You have limited option with your creation. The first 2 show that concept. To be more creative and interesting in photography it is important to move your camera around, crop with your eyes, position your body in specific approaches, and have a vision in mind.
