Final Draft: World Collage Three

Final Draft: World Collage Two

Final Draft: World Collage

This is my final draft of my world inspired collage. I hope that all of these images depict a little slice of life or a short story. All of the pictures within the collage mesh well and show a different part of the world. Through the process I came to a realization that collaging in photoshop comes out a lot stronger than collaging myself. Half of my photos are collages of my own images and the other half is of collaging I did from magazines with paper and glue. I used duo tones, black and white, and bright colors. I broke the final draft in three series because there are different color schemes throughout my series. I am happy with the results.

Contrasting Worlds

My theme of my series was to present an idea of small worlds within the world. I wanted to show the different cultures and societies that encompass the entire picture of civilization. I did this with collage and then photoshopped it to give a more chaotic effect. This "kooky' effect reflects they craziness and unstableness of out growing world. It also gives a sense of more negative space. The first image shows a theme of exotic lands and the way people live, the second picture shows the beauty and richness of Europe, the third shows the world of nature and the main focus is a small bird in its environment, and lastly we see people in nature and appreciating the uniqueness of mother nature. I hope this seem like little clips of everyday life in different parts of the world.

People and their Shadows

These two series were of objects or people with their shadows. I tried to capture shadows with the reflection of the sun. Most of the images I aimed my camera on the ground. My eye wandered to find sunlight and reflections of things all around me. This was a fun assignment because I love street photography and "shadows" evoked even more inspiration and gave me a challenge. My favorite was the people and shadows series.
